Although this painting is not for sale, I have put it up for prints. It was inspired by a fateful date on the 16th February 2005 when I lost my dear mother who was a very import person in my life and will remain so. It is contemplative, painted in my surrealistic style and as with most of my paintings, it portrays light and movement May it move you a bit too. I would like you to take your time and have a good look at this painting and try to give it your own interpretation, as one should do with most paintings. I came to paint this painting shortly after experiencing what I describe as the darkest day of my life, as we all will one day. After losing my mother, many feelings were felt, many questions came to my head. My mind would often recall the past and in my mind's eye I would imagine where she could have gone to. After pondering I thought to myself, the first journey must have been the long and windy road we are living and everyone needs all the help one can get to pass the test. We have aspiration to help drive a person on, the choices are left to one's conscience. Faith soothes a soul and beckons one to prepare for the second voyage to something grand. Along the way, it is not always easy to keep one's belief and one can often feel like a lost soul and we will always be faced with moments of soul searching. There too are others that may not believe, but what is to be lost? May our searchers take us home safely............

Jason is a painter and illustrator of various styles and different media for different ends. Principally a surrealistic and abstract artist, he has a fondness for satire and caricature, with a hint of humour fantasy and the whimsical. Nevertheless, there is a realistic and a sober aspect to some of his work too. His different genres of works are ongoing series which are added to from time to time, whether it is his Aviary, Abstract, Allegoric or any other style he employs. World events, social affairs and politics draw his attention, but he can be inspired by everything and anything seen, heard or felt. His expression can be direct or ambiguous. What is prevalent throughout his work is light, movement and flow, hardly any black is employed, leaning towards enlightenment.
