Art Description

Painting: Acrylic on Canvas.

The 150 year old country station was once a bustling hive of activity with horses and carriages and women in full regale and prim suits with lavish hats wearing pump shoes and men with small brown suitcases on their way to the big city all fussing to catch the train to Melbourne. The station now sits quietly waiting for the 2 only trains that pass by it's way each day. The ancient tunnel that delivers you onto the platform now a home for permanent tumbleweed blown in from the wind of time. At the end of the tunnel a pot of gold, a glorious little station house that now sits adorned by beautiful countryside, cows and small farms spotting the hillsides. Nature is fighting back encroaching into the almost abandoned station site bringing along with obscene quiet and peace. I have attempted to communicate the lazy days of today at Harden Railway Station compared to it's glory when it was a necessary and functioning part of life.
