Art Description

Painting: Oil, Acrylic on Canvas.

Description: oil and screenprint on canvas.Year Created: 2006

Inspired by the German school of painters that includes Thomas Scheibitz, this canvas combines candy coloured oil paints and shapes with flat, largely unprimed areas of screenprinted raw canvas. (The canvas is primed beneath the painted areas). Images used in the screenprint are echoed in the painted passages and the screen like surface offers a cinematic area of action for the eye to venture into as the play is upon three and two dimensions. This work has featured in several exhibitions, notably in Somerset (2007), Existenshul at York City Screen (2007) and in my first major solo show Play|> Pause|| at the Fishmarket, Northampton (2008).
