ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A Little Rose I Ein kleines Rosa: small square colorful abstract in wooden handpainted frame. This piece is part of a series of two, where I tried out a combination of new mixed media and studied their effects. This is a color study, material study and can be seen as an abstract piece about sky, sea, clouds and color. I love the pink in it ant thought about songs like "la vie en rose" from Edith Piaf and decided to leave it this way. The frame is painted in muted off-white to match the painting and its style, it is not plain white. 20x20 cm I framed 22x22 cm The painting comes ready to hang with wooden floating frame. It looks great in a series with "A little Blue", should you buy both I will give you free shipping and refund the extra shipping costs to you. (c) Gesa Reuter 2017, all rights reserved.

Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
