ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Childhood is one of ever returning subjects in my studio. It becomes a universal symbol of ephemeral and magical state. Everybody was a child once, this is what we all share. I paint children to raise an awareness of vulnerability and fragility of their lives all over the world. The girl in the painting is playing in imaginary, safe world of her secret garden. Happy and unaware of the outside world. Whilst playing she also becomes a magical creature from her own imagination.

I am an artist who loves to work in seclusion and if I could I would communicate only with images I create. I illustrate my feelings and impressions, working mostly with various techniques on paper ranging from small formats such as below presented book to oversized, carpet-like paper formats. I do like to work in series and use multiplications but the final creation is always unique because I do believe in intuitive hands-on creation when the materials and their properties influence the way we interpret our artistic visions. I am graduate of the Academy of Arts in Torun, Poland, I am painter, illustrator and art conservator. My studio is based in East London.
