This painting in watery blue greens contains the ancient symbol of circles- which represent cycles and infinity. The sanskrit word bij means seed, which represents new beginnings. This painting came together without planning, Visual elements were put together and as usual, hot wax with pigment was continuously layered, scraped, etched until a visual harmony was reached.

Born and raised in New Jersey, I lived in Manhattan for 14 years after college, painting and working several jobs such as window design and studio assistant to John Torreano. I currently live in western Massachusetts and my studio is in Easthampton. I love the healing arts and am a certified aromatherapist and yoga teacher. My husband and kids are all artists of some kind. I have been working abstractly for almost 30 years, using paint, collage, and encaustic. I am influenced by nature's color, decay, geometry, botanical forms and patterns. My favorite artist is Richard Diebenkorn. The words of my college art teacher, the late Rob Moore, still play in my head, like "Say more with less."
