ABOUT THE ARTWORK

My work can be described as a generative process that explores my understanding of life, related to spiritual, religious and cultural beliefs. Through the continuous process of painting and print making I am communicating and investigating my belief that all matter and energy is connected through the circular spiral form that is made up of micros and macros that form a whole. This is inspired by the rotation of planetary and cosmic elements as well as the circular structure that occur in nature. I am using the motion of a pendulum to investigate this spiral in its many expressions and possible outcomes that result from its continuous motions, and delicate nuances, allowing each piece of work to generate the next. I have used stencils and print making to create a repetitive continuation of forms that are described by negative space, which allows me to extract and document the generating process of making work.
