This painting is my self-portrait. This painting marks a major breakthrough in my life. A moment of change, a milestone, a turning point. I am the light that broke free from the chest. But I still have to break free...I need to break free into the open, but this moment is still to come. I shall mark it with another painting, a sequell to this one....in which the factory warehouse will be brought down and I will fly free into the sky. While you are reading this I am working to achieve this goal, so keep your fingers crossed. ... If you decide to buy it, you will own a peace of my soul. I....have decided to sell it only because I need money for a new exhibition. It will be called DeGravitando...and it will depict a search of freedom, hope, achieving the impossible. It will comprose a series of works where things fly....where fish fly, where labratory animals fly for freedom from suffering. It will be ...an exhibition against evil. ... The painting is oil on canvas. It was awarded a commendation at a prestigious Biennale of Art Quadro-Art 2014, an international painting contest held in Lodz, Poland, organised by the Professional Artists Association. It is not framed. I never planned a frame. ... Daria.

Artist statement: My art comments the world of the 21st century. I am interested in modern technologies and their impact on mankind. I love science and follow the latest discoveries. I am watchfully observing the recently resurrected space race. The computer is my faithful friend that I know, understand and respect. My protagonists think by means of algorithms. For me human is an endangered species, and the current Superman is called Elon Musk. I like precision, cleanliness and clarity of the message. I'm not romantic, I'm emphatic. This is not painting from the world of our grandparents, you are looking at art from the world of your grandchildren. And a bit of my biography. I am a Polish artist living and working in Lodz, Poland, member of ZPAP - Polish Association of Professional Artists, painter from the Oscar niminated "Loving Vincent" film - world's first fully painted feature film produced by Breakthru Films and directed by Dorota Kobiela. Main theme is humans vs. technology. Favourite media: oil on canvas, watercolour pencils.
