Sentosa Sunrise #2 painting was inspired by the view from my apartment on Sentosa in Singapore. I aimed to emphasize the delicate transition from night to day, a moment of serene transformation where the world seems to hold its breath. The choice of subtle pastel colors—soft pinks, gentle lavenders, and tender peaches—reflects the quiet beauty and gentle optimism of dawn. This painting seeks to capture that ethereal, almost imperceptible shift as the sun begins its ascent, casting a soothing glow over the landscape. The pastel palette evokes a sense of calm and renewal, mirroring the promise of a new beginning that each sunrise brings. The inspiration also draws from the natural world’s harmonious simplicity, where each color seamlessly blends into the next, creating a seamless gradient that speaks to the quiet majesty of dawn. It’s a tribute to the subtle yet profound beauty of nature’s daily miracle, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the gentle artistry of the morning sky.
