Serenity 24" x 36" 'Sentient Forms' No. 4 2022 'Serenity' is No. 4 painting of the series 'Sentient Forms', inspired by the cool tones of bodies of water. ‘Sentient Forms’ is a work of abstract paintings inspired by the tension of positive and negative space, transparencies and emotional representation through shapes. Sam Pat Crawford explores the human tendency to attribute emotion and personality to inanimate forms through paintings of organic forms. The forms appear to interact and have conversations with one another. However, the viewer's interpretations of the interactions may be more of an inward reflection of the viewer and how they see the relationships around themselves.

After taking AP Art in highschool she went to Savannah College of Art & Design where she studied both art & architecture, graduating with a BFA in Architecture. She went on to get her M. Arch from UCLA while making art, doing photography and creating music on the side. She currently works as an architectural designer and creates abstract paintings and other artwork.
