Istanbul Artist Residency IAR - is an art platform, created for international communication of artists. Art is a combination of existing ideas, opinion, feelings, perceptions, attitudes, habits and traditions in society. The language of art - is common throughout the world. The İstanbul Artist Residency (İAR) represents Istanbul, as an art center, uniting east and west. The first project of the İstanbul Artist Residency (İAR) – was realized with the support of 'Denkar' and the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul in May-April, 2019, with the participation of seven (7) well known artists from Ukraine. The main idea of the first residency project was about the intercultural exchange. The aim of the project was not just to present the works of artists in Turkey, but also to give artists the opportunity to create their works in a different environment, immerse themselves in a new context, be inspired by a new country, the city, namely the Istanbul. By working within the İAR project, artists had the opportunity to be inspired not only by the culture of a new country, but also to share experiences with each other and reflect it on their works.
