Painting: Acrylic, Color on Wood.
My practice centres on an exploration of space and structure in the landscape and my process of making.
I recorded my initial response to the subject of the Sham Castle a in drawing book. In this way I develop a visual language that is subsequently translated through paint back in my studio.
I use a vibrant colour palette, which complements the energy of my mark making. By painting and repainting, I build up layers allowing the paintings to reflect honestly the history of the making
I invite the viewer to look for the essence of this work, seeking out not only the architectural elements but the layers of its history.
This work is painted on a hand primed wooden board with attachments and cord to make hang easily.
