About The Artwork

I began the paintings in this series with thin washes of color, drawing into the washes with pencil and pastels which created interesting marks, colors and shapes. I grew progressively more opaque with my paint, dripping over, carving into, creating little moments of the seen and the unseen, creating tension between the two, trying to capture the essence of what life is all about, the many tiny moments that define us. This is an original, one-of-a-kind painting on 1.5" thick gallery wrapped canvas. The painting is wrapped around the edges and it is wired and ready to hang. Signed and titled by the artist on back.

As an artist, I am constantly exploring the relationship between color, memory, and emotion. For me, color is not just a visual element, but a tool to convey mood and atmosphere in my work. It allows me to communicate and express the emotions that I am feeling, or that I want my viewers to feel. Memories play a significant role in my creative process, as I draw inspiration from my own experiences and the world around me. I believe that memories are not static, but are constantly evolving, and this is reflected in my use of color. I use color to capture the fleeting and ephemeral nature of memories, and to convey the passage of time. Through the use of vivid, saturated hues, I seek to evoke a sense of nostalgia and longing, and to transport my viewers to a different time and place.
