About The Artwork

Ship's central motif, the mast of a large ship, forms a cross and at its root a female figure apparently dreaming. Further ones include a white ox with closed eye, a blue-green-gold wild cat, a curved-horned man with staff in hand whose end morphs into a human feet, fixed stars, a mystic winged-being, bee-eaters, small fishes, a cave referring to the Palaeolithic era that ended with the development of agriculture. Religions, with sagacious men offering explanations, then on large ships as well as at the hands which were holding short swords, arrived, meanwhile wild plants, like that of the ramsons (Bear's garlic) whose first evidence of human use coincides in time with the appearance of farming, and from whence the stories of the painting began, have so far survived on their own. The painting, yet the largest one, depicts ensuing, overlapping eras of one patch of land where scions of the cave dwellers lives, as well as keeping an eye open for other parts of the world, too.

Inspired by forms and colours, dabbled in many forms of expressing art stems from this interest, from cutting mosaics using half precious stones fitted into walls, melting colourful candles into shapes with intricate decoration running through on their sides, painting glassware as well as windows and large walls, I originally started painting images on material such as paper/rice paper/wooden board and usually with acrylic paints, then gradually moved on to working on canvas, like rough linen, and to using oil paints. My technique is based on drawing skill and practice, also inventing and intuition, using brush, as well as knife alone, too. The themes of the images are fictional, sometimes mythological with imaginary creatures moving along the scenery, but many stories root in History, and in the Bible too. Collectors of the works are mainly from Ireland, Hungary, but also from the USA, Greece, Austria, South Africa and China. Now I am living in Dublin/Budapest, while having exhibitions throughout the world since 2002, the latest for the invitation of 798 Art Promotion Centre in Beijing, China.
