ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Rufous-necked hornbill (Aceros nipalensis), South & Southeast Asia. I love hornbills: Africa and Asia's answer to the toucan. As I painted this one, he became a sort of glam-rock superstar... Alkyd oils on board, with acrylic underpainting and additional use of graphite pencil and marker pen. Board edges black. Signed and dated bottom left. Size 50 x 50 cm (19.7 x 19.7 inches), edge depth 2.1 cm (0.8 inches). Please note that this painting has some minor surface chipping/flaking due to a technical issue during creation, hence lower price. Further details on request.
