Art Description

Painting: Acrylic on Wood.

The shore lines in this 4 x 8' painting are derived from a line drawing of an abandoned polar bear exhibit located at Stanley Park, Vancouver, British Columbia. Here the cycle of re-imagining nature continues - the bear's in situ habitat has been reconstituted or distilled ex situ as a zoo exhibit. The painting takes the ex situ zoo exhibit and re-imagines it again, but this time as a more expansive form of in situ nature.
