About The Artwork

Today in the world Grygoriy Shyshko is called "Ukrainian Sezanne ". However, unlike Sezanne, Grygoriy Shyshko did not write the scenic views of the «Montagne Sainte-Victoire», his "reality" was the Kryvy Rih landscapes, on which - heaps and quarries, factories and mines. Reproducing them, the artist conveys the peculiar beauty of generous land, as well as her pain and wounds. The industrial landscape, the master of which is rightly considered Grygoriy Shyshko, was for Kryvyi Rih artist and a good professional training, and a way to survive in the late period of the existence of the method of "socialist realism", as well as a powerful way of creative expression. Painting skills allowed the artist to convey certain ideas through anthropogenic landscapes, through a combination of techniques and reinforcing structures - to create a new reality. According to British art histor Ann KODICHKO: " Shyshko was not a follower of socialist realism. In developing his theme, he created the modernism of his own brand. " Shyshko Exhibitions: 1995 - "Contemporary Ukrainian Art. Impressionism and Realism "gallery Hanover Fine Arts, Edinburgh (United Kingdom); 2001 - Exhibition at Mall Gelleriz, London (United Kingdom); 2005 - Color ore exhibition, Air Gelleri, London (Great Britain); 2007 - Exhibition at the UN headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland); 2012 - Exhibition in the European Parliament, Strasbourg (France).
