What inspires me are people. I love to watch the interaction between people. This painting depicts a girl who is frustrated with her family. She is caught between having to be a good daughter and wanting her independence. I think we can all empathize with what she is feeling. I was at the beach, and was watching her mother admonish her. She eventually went into the water and this is how I imagined her underwater. Sometimes we all want to scream.
