Painting: Beeswax, resin, oil, Photogram, pigment on Wood.
This piece is a composite of my painting and my photography. Through a multi-process technique, I have digitally manipulated my photograph and then incorporated it into a wax encaustic painting creating a melange of two techniques. This piece was exhibited at the show Trans at Castle HIll Art Center in Truro MA.
As with my primarily beeswax paintings, this work explores the perception of light as revealed through nuance of colour, composing a space between the natural and the ideal. An environment of diffused light is created that remains minimal and abstract.
I consider my subject to be light, with changing transitions in colour capturing reflected in memories of small moments in time and sublime beauty. Nature and her mystery is always at the core of my work.
This piece is composed of pure beeswax, dammar resin, pigment and photo on wood panel. All materials are biologically pure and chemical free. 12" x 12" x .75". Signed and dated on back. Ready to hang.
