Silver Tongued Devil Painting

My art is an obsession. I live for it; not off it. My time, when I am not doing odd jobs, eating and sleeping, is spent working on the latest piece. I started painting late in life and realized that is what I wanted to do for the remainder of my life. Inspirations are many. Childhood memories, of living in India and the people who influenced me, play a big part in my creative thinking. Everyday, flowers, stars, the ocean, and nature in general leave impressions in my mind. The state of the world today affects what thoughts are in my brain when I am painting. The sphere, which is present in all my work, represents a gem. We are all born with a gem inside us that needs to be polished. No one is better than another. Each of my productions start out as two parts. Lately they are pieces of large paintings that I made years ago that I am recycling. Nothing goes to waste. I turn each painting face down and cut it into strips. Next, the paintings are hand woven together around a sphere that is embedded in the piece. When I turn the finished weave over, I see my surprise. When people ask me what the piece means and I tell them “it is all in there”.
