Art Description

Painting: Oil on Other.

This painting was made over several afternoons in situ at Sissinghurst in Kent, England. Remembered from childhood this place, with its beautiful gardens holds a personal magic, some of which I wanted to capture in this painting. I hope that the viewer takes a way a feeling of the light and magic of this place, the breeze, the trees and the tower.

It was made just the other side of the moat, looking through the trees towards the famous tower with its soft, dreamlike glow.

The painting is presented in a wooden frame which has been painted with a soft, muted grey-green chalk paint and then rubbed and waxed so you can see the wood through the colour. It has a smooth finish.

Measurements are for the painting framed.
