My son have been after me to paint Mario for quite some time so this is my piece on a video game character juxtaposed with fine art. The fine art part being the basquiat like abstract along with my version of a Warhol banana. I suppose from the years of consuming video games and art makes this piece ripe for a collision of ideology of highbrow and lowbrow art...

I like to use iconic fine art master-works juxtaposed with current popular culture imagery from advertising, comic books, logos, ect. to create social awareness in the times we live in. By splicing these contrasting images from different time periods, the subject matter takes on new impetus of preconscious intensity not found in simplistic or direct commentary art. I like to further entice my viewers with palatable compositions, textures, bright colors, and unexpected images. I received my BFA, Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from San Francisco State University and had the amazing opportunity to study under both professor/working artist, Richard Mclean & Paul Pratchenko.
