Snowdrops Painting

Snowdrops are quite magical as flowers, because they literally brigthen the winter and act as lamps into spring. I love how their shapes are similar to contemporary design. So my intent with this painting was to break down the form of these flowers into main structures and to showcase how they reorganize the space and serve as a bridge between seasons. In this painting I have also used the symbol of Lunar Snake, which in Berber culture captures the union of opposites, i.e. dark & light. As for technicalities, I have painted it on a high quality watercolor paper – pure cotton, cold press and acid free, which ensures longevity, with watercolor and ink.
