ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The first time I found myself in a snowy, frosty forest, I was 10 years old. Some people are lucky enough to grow up in such places, but for me, a child from the steppe, it was a real gift. A pine forest, deep snowdrifts. My uncle and I were on skis, which allowed us to venture deep into the forest. I remember a small stream breaking through the snow, the sunlit pine treetops glowing with an orange hue, and the dark, lush fir trees. The silence of the forest was broken only by our breathing and the occasional crackle of birds. Despite the frost, I felt warm, even hot, as it took effort to move on skis. Unfortunately, I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve had this experience again. As a student and later on, we often went camping in the mountains, but only in summer. Winter hikes in the forest are a rare occasion for someone from the southern regions. Perhaps that’s why I remember so vividly all the sights and emotions that a winter forest offers?

Born in 1978. I became seriously interested in watercolor as a teenager. I drew everything that surprised me with great enthusiasm. Later, I received additional art education. I graduated from the Shakhty Art School. This gave me understanding and skills in working in various techniques and materials, but the desire for watercolor only intensified. For many years I have devoted time to creativity with varying degrees of strength. Usually, my works were distributed as gifts. My friends managed to convince me that I should put all my efforts into creativity. I listened to their wishes and for the last 2 years I have been constantly drawing. In my work, I like to experiment. For me, drawing is always a challenge and a desire to reflect the depth of space, to convey the play of light without losing the brightness of colors. I think I manage to make the work light and bright by working with the details to the best of my ability. I strive for a balance between the magic of impressionism and realism.
