About The Artwork

Barking Bitches is a reflection of the current socio-political divide across much of the Western world today. We are witnessing extremes in public opinion, emanating from Brexit to Trump to the rise of nationalist parties across Europe, which is creating a rage and uprising on both sides of the divide. This polarisation is driving a wedge between generations, ethnic groups and even political parties, creating a fury that is depicted in the “Call off the Dogs” collection. Still, amongst these dark times, there is always light; the “Chiaroscuro” collection highlights the beauty to be found even in the desperation of the Rio favelas, whilst the “Nuova Cinquecento” collection nods at the creative wealth to be gained by embracing each other’s cultural differences.
