Painting: Oil on Wood.
This still life is part of a series I have been working on recently. They are all painted from life and staged in a shadowbox I have set up in my studio space. These smaller paintings allow me to experiment with different light and other effects, such as the transparency of glass for example.
Here I "re-cycled" a souvenir from Florence - an empty bottle of the lovely home scent "Boboli" from Dr. Vranjes. I felt the elegance of the almost white roses and the muted background went rather well with the beautiful, yet simple, bottle.
I have found a beautiful Italian frame for this artwork, so I updated this listing. The frame is a brownish black with an ornate gilded insert. The frame is 34,5cm wide, 44,5cm high and 4cm deep. It has been carefully patinated by the frame maker to make it look a bit "pre-loved", so tiny scratches and little irregularities are meant to be.
The painting itself measures 35cm x 25cm.
