About The Artwork
The painting was part of a small solo exhibition called Inner/Outer Spaces. It is about the ritual of passage or the states/places of transition. Transition has been and is an important part of individual's life and therefore requires special circumstances, place, time, tools and last not least a guide or psychopompus - a role assigned to dogs. The white color of the dog stands for its indeterminate nature. It belongs neither to this, nor the other world/stage but only helps the initiate to reach a new state.
