About The Artwork
This painting is part of my kimono series in which I explore the impact our fast paced world has on our daily lives. We have left behind the stillness and meditative quality of rituals, taking the time to make those small choices that enrich our lives. I want to stop time, if even briefly, for the viewer and take a moment for quiet... My use of color reflects also the tension between the desire to keep up with ever changing world around us and wanting to find that quiet place in ourselves.
