Art Description

Painting: Oil on Canvas, Wood.

The pastoral area of the South Australian Mid-North is a highly productive region with reliable winter rains. I see the constructed rural landscape as a re-arrangement of nature which invites further abstraction. The broad vistas and patterns of activity are photographed from a moving vehicle. I combine the moving views to make an abstract design which incorporates the passage of time. This piece records a particular interest in the aerial perspective of vegetation. The painting examines the temporal nature of depicting landscape, the relationships between landscape elements shifting as the viewer moves through.

Made with highest quality materials on a heavy duty canvas, ready to hang.
