ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The stunning scenery of the spring landscape is a result of inspiration drawn from the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains during early spring. Memories and nature sketches have come together to create a vivid image of blue mountains and lush green grass, where the colors of nature rejuvenate after the winter's slumber. Situated in the western part of Ukraine and spanning hundreds of kilometers, the Ukrainian Carpathians possess an enchanting charm that captivates all who behold their unique beauty. Among the various mountain landscapes are the highest peaks of Ukraine, including Hoverla, Petros, and Pip-Ivan. Throughout the seasons, the mountains undergo a mesmerizing transformation. In spring, a vibrant tapestry of flowers blankets the landscape, while summer brings a lush green canopy. Come autumn, the mountains turn into a picturesque canvas adorned with shades of red, yellow, and orange. The Carpathians also boast a rich cultural heritage, with the Hutsuls contributing significantly to the region's distinctiveness. Their music, dances, folk customs, and crafts are interwoven into the very fabric of the Carpathian ambiance, adding to the mountains' allure. Visiting the Carpathians provides an opportunity to immerse oneself in the unparalleled beauty of nature, find solace from the burdens of everyday life, and witness the harmonious connection between humanity and the natural world. The artwork is a masterpiece created using oil on high-quality, thick Italian mixed media paper, weighing 350 g.

I am Ukrainian artist Andrii Kovalyk. Now I live in Spain In my work, I explore energy as the foundation of life. When I paint, I often use my fingers instead of a brush, becoming a direct conduit for this energy, as if I am a tool in the hands of higher forces. My experience as an icon painter has deeply influenced my contemporary art: the gold in my works symbolizes the Divine light, connecting the material and spiritual worlds. For me, nature is not merely a physical landscape but a manifestation of sacred energy. Inspired by the wisdom of saints, I aim to convey harmony through my art, offering the viewer a sense of inner peace and spiritual cleansing. My works represent a dialogue between earth and sky, time and eternity, where each stroke becomes part of this conversation. My bicycle travels across various countries have enriched my worldview, allowing me to capture the pristine beauty of nature through paints. I strive to show the viewer that hidden beauty exists in every moment, and through art, one can touch this harmony. My work is an invitation to contemplation, a dialogue with something greater that transcends the ordinary. I believe that the boundaries between the possible and the impossible are illusory. My paintings are a way to reveal this understanding, to show the world as it truly is: infinite and filled with energy that nourishes us all.
