Spring Painting

I began my career as a self taught commercial painter. I was one of only handful of women to be privileged to work for national outdoor advertising companies. I painted billboards for nearly ten years before seeking a formal education in art. Since then, my work has went through several transformations. I've had various exhibits throughout my state, receiving several awards. These paintings are a new technique for me. The work is done by applying tape to create the desired shape, then using acrylic paint & medium to fill the masked off areas, removing each layer before starting a new one. I repeat this process, building layers of colorful shapes. Paper and fabric are sometimes added to complete the desired look. Thanks for visiting my page.
