This painting was inspired when my son, Gordon, finished practising on his Recorder and left behind the empty chair and sheet music. The painting is a tribute to Gordon, to Vincent van Gogh, and to Don Mclean for his beautiful melody, "Starry, Starry, Night".

Ella frazer was born in Scotland and art instruction began at a very early age. She later attended the Glasgow School of Art and studied ancient art and architecture while working towards her art degree in Canada. During this time she studied the ancient medium, Egg Tempera, and concentrated on life drawing and painting. She now resides in Florida and continues to paint in egg tempera and acrylic with works concentrating in realism and the human form.
