ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The overlay of multiple layers of colour, quite uniform yet each individual is representative of the layers in an organisation. How each person is not simply a layer in a company; a number, but an individual. Everyone unique even if they are within the same function (colour). The giraffe represents those moments when we "stick our neck out", stand tall and be counted for something we believe in. We may, at that moment 'stick out' but we're still part of that organisation. Made with acrylic on canvas with multiple layers of different mediums to give a rich texture including charcoal, graphite, pastel and oil. It gives the viewer the sense of depth and interest.

Whilst living in Madrid, art became a language of expression. Most art works embody a sense of time, a moment through a dreamy memory. Usually inspired by child protagonists capturing their movement and the dynamic of the relationship between them. The gaze of a boy to his older sister or the protective arm of a big sister around her little brother. Now living in Shropshire, UK with her children often being muses.
