Still Life 3 Painting

It seems that there is a stereotype wherein people often believe that still life painting is an antiquated and boring process, but I believe it’s the basis of all artists who tell stories in a visual form. When studying an organic subject and exploring its relationship with light, I find myself liberated with a sense of freedom that encourages endless imagination. My work is an examination of the different forms still life takes. Putting them in different scenarios and altering them in an abstract form is a way to evoke emotion, questioning the fear mongering aspect of the alienating society we’ve found ourselves subjected to - willingly or not, and trying to bring a sense of calm juxtaposed by a still tranquil form.
