Sublimation of Vertical Blinds Painting

The main purpose of this painting is to sublimate everyday objects such as vertical blinds, balls, and walls as art without damaging their essence. The everyday objects faithfully carrying out the reason for existence are sublimated into art at a moment when an artist chooses, interprets, and expresses as art objects in the artist's way. In order to minimize the inherent distortion caused by the artist's subjectivity in the process of transforming from everyday objects to art, this work chooses the most straightforward method: keeping the essence of subjects, removing unnecessary features, applying minimal color, and expressing geometric structures. (e.g., orange circle: sun, green rectangle: window, blue repetitive bars: vertical blinds, dark green repetitive bars: lights entering between vertical blinds.) Composed of simplified forms, this work is based on minimalism, the belief that the gap between reality and art is minimized when simply being faithful to the basic.
