My most recent line of work is meant to leave a lot to the imagination of the viewer. Painting the female body and yet not all of it, suggesting, inviting to imagine what she is doing, why is she dressed this way, where is she going, with whom? Through the colors I use I wish to capture the people’s attention and then let them invent their own story behind the painting. I am inspired by all that is beautiful to my eyes, whether in fashion, art, architecture, nature and of course people. Color is always a big trigger and I love to play with contrasts. The works of painters as various as Andy Warhol, Sorolla, Degas, Tamara Lempicka and of photographers Guy Bourdin , Saul Leiter, J.H. Lartigues are very inspirational to me. I am mostly self-taught and started painting after taking a life drawing class. I now develop my work in acrylic an oil, ideal media to express the sensuality and the plastic of the female body. Before converting into the artist NAD.O, my life was quite different. For more than ten years, I worked in the fashion and luxury industries living between Europe and the United States. After this enriching time and experience I felt ready for a new challenge. I moved back to Paris and partnered in a venture to create FACE a FACE , a brand of high end designer Eyewear made in France. From this moment on, I travelled around the world for more than 20 years to promote Face a Face and develop its positioning in the international market. These numerous experiences and travels gave me the opportunity to absorb trends and impregnate myself with inspiration from all kinds of countries and cultures. At the same time, I shared this visual and sensory information with the design team, working actively with them, exploring a multitude of color ranges for the many collections launched on the market. Since then, these experiences have been key in my figure as an artist. The amount of input received and the multitude of colors experienced over the years reflect in my work. In fact, color is my passion! In 2016, taking advantage of the sale of the company, I decided to take some self-reflection time. I realized that I needed a break from the world of business and marketing and decided that time had come to start what I had been longing to do for a long time: draw, paint, and explore texture and canvas with colors.
