Painting: Acrylic, Oil, Spray Paint on Canvas.
This is a very colourful and catchy painting. It is a very recent work of Danielle van Broekhoven. Who is always inspired by nature and who loves to experiment and give her passion a face through painting. A real action painter with big brushstrokes.
Colour, composition and light are of great importance for van Broekhoven. There must always be (Dutch) light in the work...as if the tranparancy of the paint is still passing light...as if the sun is somewhere hiding in the painting!
Most of the works have great layering. Various “failures” are hidden under the upper layers of paint. In the final result these failures are necessary, they provide depth. Painting in this way is an elusive process and at the same time it’s a well-considered process in which great concentration and alertness is necessary. Because their are no sketches in advance, it’s all happening right in front of her, and there it is to be captured….
