Recently I have been overpainting older works and tried out new ways of expressing emotions and feelings. Here I started to play around with colors, enjoying the texture of the big and loose brushstrokes and was completely absorbed in what it felt like. "SummerSea" gives you an idea of the lightness of summer days at the sea, of sailing, of waves, of fresh air and some wind. You can see just a beautiful landscape with some light clouds here, you could think of a window view, but the painting can also be understood as emotions and feelings breaking in like waves do, things can happen in our so far quiet life and break in... life means constant change, we have to deal with it, it can be stormy, it can be wild, it can drown us, it can be quiet or even boring, but it can also contain great beauty. In this vibrant painting the emphasis lies on the lightness - where there is light, there is growth, change and there is hope! 80x80x2 cm on gallery wrapped canvas. Signed on the back. Ready to hang. Looks great with a white floating frame, so I sell it framed. Of course you can have it without frame! ATTENTION: Although I do my very best when photographing, it is always challenging to get the colors right, especially with blues and greens. Here you have a mainly blue painting with some turquoise, white and golden pigments underneath that may look a bit ocre. See detail photos, please, and also notice that different screens may show different colors. On my screen it looks t bit darker than it really is! (c) Gesa Reuter 2018

Germany
Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
