ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A Sydney Harbour sunrise is an unforgettable sight. You see a bit of pink, a bit of orange, a bit of purple, and just as you begin seeing the colours, they change in front of your eyes. A touch of gold foil is added to show the water glistening in expectation as the sun rises against the silhouette of the Harbour Bridge. This is an attempt to portray that magic but in a style that takes inspiration from Indian handloom fabrics, especially saris.
