About The Artwork

For this particular series of etudes I wanted to catch the immediate beauty of color. I have been searching for the dynamics, tension, structure, pliability of the line looking somewhere in the middle of nowhere and at the same time looking at and through the nature. Nature for me is where the materiality transforms into the spirituality.

Painting ... for me it's vibration, those feelings, those reactions that happen to me. I'm trying to talk about it in art. A lot of information instinctively delayed every day. And at the moment when I stay next to the canvas, I take the brush and put on as if by accident the accumulated information on the canvas. And what you paint, you don't always know, you don’t always know what would be in the end. I think that an artist can only be the one who wants to be an artist, whose soul is not staying at the same place, who are constantly worried and experiencing, who feels that he need to speak out. Holding a brush, there are moments when you feel yourself more than a human. There should be always a presence of an enigma in my works. I don't want to analyse it's each part. The viewer, the work itself in my opinion should tell it's own story. 'It's not a painting it's like a life lived', Guston says. What I think about it is that it is very important to know your cultural background and to try to keep it in your works. For me as an artist it is important to keep the idea of the cultural authenticity in my mind. I feel that when I work with the specific themes that exist only in my country, I become to be more interesting to the public. The viewer is trying to dive deep inside my works, inside the whole story that stays behind. For me as an artist it gives sometimes a lot of inspiration and ideas to think about.
