About The Artwork
“Sunshine Yellow” is a large scale abstract expressionist painting with vibrant fresh yellow and gold with accents of grey. This painting was created as a collaboration between Don Bishop and Suzanne Vaughan in their studio in Portland, OR. These paintings capture some of the light and atmosphere of the plein air style combined with fresh bold gestural marks of the abstract expressionist movement. The result is a combination of fresh bold color embedded in thick paint application. In this series, Don and Suzanne continue exploring the expressive paint application and color combinations that will be the focus of these works. Extra canvas border around the painting allows for many framing options such as a floater frame or stretching onto a 40” gallery wrap frame.
