Hillel Zehnwirth is an Figurative artist based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Deeply influenced by German and Danish figurative art—particularly Otto Dix and Egon Schiele and Vilhelm Hammershøi—his work explores themes of identity, emotion, and the inner worlds we construct to survive and connect. A graduate of Emily Carr University in Vancouver and a student of the late painter Leo Contini, Zehnwirth has been a professional artist since 2001. In recent years, his work has evolved through the influence of Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershøi, embracing quieter tones, atmospheric stillness, and psychological depth. Zehnwirth’s art merges raw emotion with quiet introspection, creating bold, personal imagery that invites viewers into a shared emotional space.
