ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This artwork started with intuitive expressive spray painting - I added many layers of color which was a real challenge because I started this as paper work on thin black paper and it turned out to be a multi-layered painting. Between the process I suddenly saw a figure like a human body but the face of a monkey and somehow I wanted to work out that figure which for me stands for the humans which took over nature and destroy their roots and substance of living with the ignorance in protecting what gives us life.

WHAT IS MY ART LANGUAGE ABOUT As an artist and an individual, one question runs through my entire life and creative process. To what extent and under what conditions can we, as humans, transform our inner being into an outer existence? Through the analytical approach to this topic, my work shows the struggle between the inner space and the outer form, between closeness and distance, fusion and dispersion. In my creative process I put layers of experienced realities on top of each other, fragments and narratives, my own and from others, consciously and subconsciously. These fragments end up in a mutually dependent and complex tissue, which flattens out onto the existing medium. My process integrates recognizing, uncovering, reducing, linking a slowly appearing existence of what already exists through sublimation into another reality. Transporting what is not obviously visible to the surface is the intrinsic force of my art process. In doing so, I link psychological and philosophical dimensions of the human being, the dilemma of becoming and disappearing and the causality of this to social-societal constraints and artificially created forms.
