This work is part of a series of 6 inspired by some of the women the artist encountered while he was battling the alienating and isolating effects of mental illness. None of the pieces are directly representative of any one individual, however they embody the spirit of some of the women he met and the artist hopes to pay tribute to them through art.

Rayner is a lawyer, painter and conceptual artist living and working in Singapore. He struggles with a history of schizophrenia and depression. Rayner was born in 1973. He read English Literature and Sociology at the National University of Singapore and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. Subsequently, he read Law at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom and received his LL.B (Hons). He is a self-taught artist who is making his debut in 2017.
