Nazran Yahya is an avid painter and up-and-coming artist from the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. While maintaining architecture as his professional career, he cannot be separated from his passion for painting. Painting is indeed a medium for him to weave the facets of life’s occurrences into fascinating manifestation on canvas. Nazran is always interested in capturing events at every juncture of his life - through his own personal accounts as well as his close observation of the surroundings. Based on these, he further amalgamates the occurrences by channelling his creativity through the colours and strokes. Passion of painting has stemmed within him since he was four years of age. Nazran regards his father as the great influence to nurture his talent in this form of art. Recollecting his days while doing Fine Art as part of his formal education, Nazran was strongly intrigued, influenced and shaped by the works of impressionists – Dali, Van Gogh and Degas to name a few. As he charts his life and being exposed to the magical world of painting, he further relates himself to the works of Syed Ahmad Jamal, the late Ibrahim Hussein and Raja Idris. Most of his pieces are abstract in nature. He honestly feels that he can embrace this style in painting for it collectively converts the details of his strings of experiences and events. Myriad of colours blended in multitude of strokes are unique characters of Nazran that are able to encapsulate every single detail of his eventful life - consequently transforms a pure innocent canvas into an artwork that tells a story.
