ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is a 40x50 inches canvas done using oils and acrylics. As M. A. Steinberger said, a racing saddle will allow a horse to go fastest. This is less about the weight than it is about balance. As she pointed out, having the rider’s weight directly over the withers provides the least amount of interference with the horse’s movement. Weight is an issue because the horse will tire more quickly with more weight and thus slow down. So, the horse with the most balanced rider will outrun an equally fast horse with a poor rider, almost regardless of saddle. Of course, when we’re talking about top tier horse racing, the jockeys are more equally skilled (athletically) than the horses. Strategy (and luck) starts to matter most. So, if a lightweight saddle that puts the rider over the withers helps a horse run its fastest, why do barrel racers use western saddles? (Keep in mind that a barrel racing saddle is a completely different animal from a roping saddle even if they look superficially similar.) Aside from tradition, the main answer is the turns. If you watch barrel racers, you’ll see that they do stand up and lean forward on the straightaways, but they have to sit down to make those incredibly tight turns (and many use the horn for balance as well). I don’t think any barrel racer could run a pattern at their speediest time with no saddle.

Short Bio I was born at ELURU, A.P. in INDIA (SOUTH). Since the age of five I am closely integrated with the art. Being born to a renowned artist right from my childhood, I had an urge towards art and photography. I used to observe my father while he was painting and when he finished his work, I used to clean his brushes. Often I used to paint with the same brushes. I followed my passion for art and studied photography in the school. Subsequently, I was employed in IDPL Rishikesh, Uttaranchal as an Artist & Photographer. To fulfill my creative urge, I did several experiments for more than a decade on photo chemicals on bromide, and painting on used X ray film after treating them with photo chemicals. Living close to Himalaya Mountains, I was inspired by the splendors of nature and did several paintings on canvas.
