About The Artwork
"Tempus fugit" is an expression taken from "Sed fugit interea fugit irreparabile tempus" - quote by Virgil, from the verse Georgica, which means "while, the irreplaceable time escapes". Oil on canvas. Such an earthly subject was treated with earth tones, but with a touch of golden Iight at the skull and delicate whites at the lace. I used multiple layers of oil paint to create richer depth and lively colors.
