ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was gifted a vintage map of my hometown - Buffalo New York - by a colleague and friend back in 2017 . As artist-in-residence in Mexico City for the next few months, I was gathering old materials and objects with which to work and stumbled on this ... which brought me to reflect deeply on my roots - everyone and everything that contributed to this very moment in time . The luxury of time and space has afforded me the capacity to metabolize and synthesize disparate elements of my life - bringing forth greater coherence in my work and in my life . Please enjoy .
