ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The artist is at the top of her art: she reveals the intrinsic stream of thought of an innocuous little girl who is watering flowers. Inwardly the kid thinks: the more I will make these flowers grow in a supernatural way, the more I will grow up. The desire to become a hatched woman is nourished in nature. The watering can plays an essential role because it imitates the divine rain that gives life to seeds: water is existence. A personal revolution is stirring in the mind of this child: "When can I rise to the height of these flowers?” The painting is a Virginia Woolf lighting: saying out loud what we think softly. But Freud has his say: the watering can being a phallic element, the kid looks for what is masculine in her. She is in search of her double-I. However, this inner struggle takes place with great tenderness which is highlighted by the choice of colors: in particular, the soft green of the stems and leaves and the soft pink of the petals. We would all like to be this kid because she makes us feel good.
