Terrorist? Painting

Cherry Lee studied graphic design and fine art at Ravensbourne College of Art and Design in the UK and after graduating with a Diploma in Art and Design went on to work as an illustrator and designer for various publishing companies in London. On emigrating to Western Australia she continued her studies attending Balga Technical College, Perth and the Western Australia School of Art and Design respectively attaining distinctions in painting and drawing. After graduating with a degree in Social Sciences from Edith Cowan University WA she began her artwork in earnest having several solo and group exhibitions. With influences such as Impressionism,Fauvism, Abstract and Caravaggio (because of his social and political subject matter and his sense of drama), Cherry likes her paintings to create and impact and be a focal point whether the subject be political, social or informal. Her intention is that her work will either create debate or just enjoyed depending on the paintings content. Cherry works from her home studio in WA, currently using acrylics and/or mixed media on canvas. She is also proficient with pastel and watercolour. She has paintings hanging nationally and internationally, has won many awards, taught in various institutions and owned her own gallery.
